Your transits
Enter your birth details and COSMEYA will find which slow planets — Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto — are forming aspects to your chart now, when each period began, when the aspect is exact and when it ends. Your birth time is optional: without it there are no transits to the Ascendant and MC.
Orb: 2° for Jupiter and Saturn, 1.5° for the outer planets. The calculation runs in your browser.

What transits are
A birth chart is a still image of the sky at the moment you were born. But the planets keep moving, and from time to time each of them forms a significant angle to some point in your chart. That is called a transit: for example, “transiting Saturn square natal Sun”.
A transit is active while the angle is close to exact — within the orb, a tolerance of one or two degrees. For fast planets that means hours or days, for slow ones months. That is why slow transits describe periods of life, while fast ones describe the mood of a day.
Fast and slow planets
| Planet | Full circle | How long a transit lasts |
|---|---|---|
| Moon | 27.3 days | A few hours |
| Sun | 1 year | 2–3 days |
| Mercury, Venus | About a year | Days; weeks when retrograde |
| Mars | About 2 years | A week or two |
| Jupiter | About 12 years | A few weeks, up to half a year with loops |
| Saturn | About 29.5 years | Months, up to a year |
| Uranus, Neptune, Pluto | 84, 165 and 248 years | One to two years |
The free calculation shows the transits of the five slow planets: they set the backdrop worth taking into account in your plans. Fast transits will go into the personal horoscope.
Transit aspects
- 0°
Conjunction
The planet arrives at a point in your chart. A theme begins or renews — strongly and without half-tones.
- 60°
Sextile
A gentle opening: it helps if you take a step towards it.
- 90°
Square
Tension that asks for action. Uncomfortable, but squares are often what moves you forward.
- 120°
Trine
Support and ease: what you start flows naturally.
- 180°
Opposition
A counterweight: the theme shows up through other people and asks for balance.
Retrograde planets
Retrograde motion is apparent backward motion: the Earth overtakes a planet on its orbit, and from here the planet seems to move backwards through the zodiac. Mercury turns retrograde about three times a year for roughly three weeks; Venus once every year and a half, Mars once every two years, and the outer planets for several months every year.
In astrology retrograde periods are linked with review: returning to old matters, double-checking agreements and plans. They are no reason to put life on hold — more a reminder not to rush. The coming periods:

The transits people talk about most
Saturn return
Saturn comes back to its natal place around 29–30 and 58–60. A time of growing up, reviewing commitments and finding new foundations.
Jupiter to the Sun
Every 12 years Jupiter crosses your Sun. It is linked with growing confidence, new opportunities and a wish to expand.
Uranus opposition
Around 40–42 Uranus stands opposite its birth position. A need for freedom and honesty with yourself — the famous midlife crisis.
Pluto to the Moon
A slow, deep transit: old emotional habits stop working, and there is a chance to rebuild them in a new way.
Neptune to Venus
Romance, inspiration and idealisation in relationships. Good for creativity, but keep checking dreams against reality.
Saturn to the MC
A test of career decisions: a time to take responsibility, consolidate results or change direction.
How to read your transits
- Look at the planet — it sets the character of the theme: Jupiter expands, Saturn structures, Uranus changes, Neptune dissolves boundaries, Pluto transforms.
- Look at the point in your chart — it names the area: the Sun is your sense of self, the Moon your emotions, Venus your relationships, the MC your career.
- Look at the timing — the exact aspect isn’t “the day something happens” but the middle of the period, when the theme is loudest.
The full reading of your birth chart tells you the most about your chart, and the big stages of life are visible in the Life Map.
Questions & answers
It varies: a Moon transit lasts hours, the Sun and Mercury days, Saturn months — and with retrograde loops a planet can cross the same point in your chart up to three times.
It is a period when Mercury appears to move backwards as seen from Earth. It happens about three times a year and lasts around three weeks. Astrology links it with reviewing plans and paying attention to agreements.
Not for transits to the planets; yes for transits to the Ascendant, MC and houses.
A horoscope is a short takeaway for the day. Transits show the processes themselves: which planet, to which point of your chart, when the period begins and ends.
