Calculate your matrix
The matrix needs only your birth date. We will draw the nine-point chart and describe its six main positions.
The calculation runs in your browser; nothing is sent anywhere.
What the Destiny Matrix is
The Destiny Matrix method is associated with Natalia Ladini, who published it in the 2000s. It rests on the 22 major arcana of the tarot: each number from 1 to 22 matches one arcanum, and your birth date becomes a set of such numbers placed on a chart.
The chart looks like an eight-pointed star: two squares, one straight and one turned, plus a centre. The straight square is built from your birth day, month and year and describes personal themes. The turned one comes from their sums. The centre ties everything together.
The matrix is a symbolic system, not a forecast. The arcana suggest themes worth your attention, but they don’t decide how you should live.
How the matrix is calculated
Every number in the matrix is brought into the range 1 to 22: if a sum is greater than 22, its digits are added together. Here is the calculation for 14.07.1991.
Day
The birth day is 14. If it were over 22, we would add its digits: 25 → 7.
Month
The month is 7.
Year
The digits of the year: 1 + 9 + 9 + 1 = 20.
The fourth point
The sum of the three: 14 + 7 + 20 = 41 → 4 + 1 = 5.
The centre
The sum of the four points: 14 + 7 + 20 + 5 = 46 → 4 + 6 = 10.
The points of the turned square are sums of neighbouring points of the straight one: day + month, month + year, year + fourth point, fourth point + day. In our example they are 21, 9 (27 → 9), 7 (25 → 7) and 19.
The positions of the matrix
The free COSMEYA reading covers six positions. Matrix schools name them differently; this is how we read them.
- Centre
Core
The sum of the four main points. The theme that ties the rest together — where you feel most yourself.
- Day
Personal qualities
How you come across and how others see you. Often the qualities people notice first.
- Month
Talents
Abilities that come easily and open up when you trust them.
- Year
Self-realisation
Work and the material world: how you naturally bring plans to life.
- Year + 4th point
Relationships
What you look for in closeness and partnership, and which qualities open up next to others.
- 4th point
Recurring patterns
Themes that keep coming back until you notice them. Some call this the “karmic tail” — we prefer to talk about lessons.
The 22 arcana: short meanings
Every arcanum has a resourceful side and a side worth watching. One line is only a way in; in a position reading, the arcanum is read together with the position’s meaning.

In the Destiny Matrix, arcanum VIII is Justice and XI is Strength, as in the Marseille tarot tradition. In the Rider–Waite deck we use for readings, these two cards swap places.
How to read the matrix without fatalism
Online, the matrix is often described in frightening terms: “karmic debts”, “ancestral programmes”, “negative arcana”. We don’t read it that way. An arcanum in any position is a theme with strong and difficult expressions, and you choose which to develop.
- Look for what resonates in a description and skip what isn’t about you.
- Compare with your experience: the matrix is useful when it helps you see a pattern you already sensed.
- Don’t make decisions on the matrix alone — especially about health, money and relationships.
Matrix compatibility
A compatibility matrix is built from two birth dates: the points of the two charts are added, giving a shared matrix for the couple. It describes what unites two people and what they will work on together. This reading will appear in your personal account.
Meanwhile you can check compatibility by birth charts — free, for relationships, work or friendship.
Questions & answers
Take the day, the month and the sum of the digits of your birth year; reduce any number over 22 by adding its digits. Add the three numbers to get the fourth point, and the sum of all four gives the centre. The other positions are built from these points.
Both work with the numbers of your birth date, but numerology reduces them to 1–9, while the matrix reduces them to the 22 tarot arcana and places them in the positions of a chart.
No. It is a symbolic system: the arcana suggest themes for reflection — talents, relationships, recurring patterns — not a ready-made script for your life.
The centre is the sum of the four main points. It is linked with the core of the personality: what ties the other themes of the matrix together.
